why can't a replacement driver be considered as part of your team? It's not like a top tier driver will replace a lower driver.

Usually replacements are announced much earlier and players have time to do changes in the team.
Of course this season many things are different that in a normal situation.
I will think how this can be archived but if you have any ideas you are more than welcome to share.

Again, Especially this year, exceptions should exist Replacement drivers points should count, this affects many teams.
If both drivers were out for Racing point or Ferrari and 2 drivers were brought in, you would still get points from Racing point racing the race.
